CMTS Youth Performers (Ages 7–18)

Welcome to CMTS Youth Performers — the junior ‘wing’ of Clacton Musical Theatre Society, dedicated to nurturing young talent in musical theatre.

About us
We offer an engaging, fun and professional environment for children aged 7 to 18 who love singing, dancing, acting—and everything in between. Our members meet every Friday evening for rehearsal, workshops, and collaborative creative time, under the guidance of experienced leaders.

What we do
Twice each year, our Youth Performers mount full-scale productions in April and October.

These performances give young people the chance to take to the stage, develop confidence, and share their growing skills with family, friends, and the wider community.

Safety & care
We take safeguarding seriously. Every adult involved with the Youth Performers is required to hold a valid, enhanced DBS check. We operate under a committee structure with licensed chaperones approved by Essex County Council, and have designated safeguarding leads on hand for oversight and support. All rehearsals at our HQ, rehearsals-on-stage, and performances are run in compliance with relevant regulations and good practice to ensure a safe, fun environment.

Our values

  • Inclusive & supportive environment — we welcome young people of all experience levels
  • Skill development — training in singing, acting, dance and teamwork
  • Creativity & confidence — performance opportunities which help build self-esteem
  • Community & fun — we enjoy the journey as much as the show
